Home Park Road
Walter Lilly was commissioned to create a four-storey extension to an existing family home, located within the exclusive Wimbledon North Conservation Area. The project included the construction of a new gym, master bedroom, living areas, garage and self-contained staff accommodation, together with refurbishment of the existing house, which incorporated a new dining room extension. The quality of the fit out was specified to a very high standard, and included extensive landscaping and ground remodelling.
The front of the extension was finished in a palette of brick and stone taken from the existing house, in keeping with the original period architecture, with a structural glass wall set behind a planted screen. The rear of the house is more open in character, with the ground floor and lower ground rooms leading out onto gardens; while the first floor master suite has an open terrace overlooking the landscape to the rear. Other key features include a bronze-clad front door; a building facia and garage doors finished in vertical slatted oiled oak; as well as a striking combination of frameless and oak-framed windows.
