Cornwall Terrace, Regent’s Park

Regent's Park, City of Westminster

This property, once described as “Britain’s most expensive terrace home”, needed to live up to its reputation when it was time for refurbishment. Walter Lilly renovated the prestigious Grade I, 1,950 m2 property to transform it into a magnificent property worthy of its status.

The house consists of five stunning bedroom suites, 12 bathrooms, a 300 m2 health and leisure facility including swimming pool, sauna, hammam spa and gym, a family kitchen with separate catering kitchen and formal dining rooms. Walter Lilly managed the complete project which included extensive stone and joinery work, fitting new ceilings, floors, roof slating and roof lights.

Other works included the restoration of windows, original fireplaces, a cantilevered stone staircase (returned to its original configuration) and the sensitive rebuilding of a damaged caryatid figure.

The stunning property was finished throughout with the most luxurious of materials including back-illuminated onyx and quartz stone and bespoke hardwood floors with laser-cut rope borders in steamed and stained oak in four of the bathrooms. The house also features automated moveable walls and cabinets and a unique three dimensional ‘rippled sand’ finish to the bathroom walls and swimming pool edging – inspired by patterns on the seashore.

Walter Lilly also project managed work carried out by client-appointed contractors, including hi-tech audio-visual, security and garden landscaping.
