Roundhill, Highgate

Highgate, North London

Roundhill is a luxurious new four-storey, 2790 m2 residence which backs onto Highgate Golf Course in Hampstead.

Walter Lilly constructed the lavish nine-bedroom property on the 3,450 m2 estate, and fully landscaped the grounds as part of the project.

The residence is clad in Portuguese fine grain mocha crème limestone, hand carved in the UK by Stirling Stone. It also includes impressive natural stone features such as the tympanum, entablatures and pediments. The entrance porticos kneelers each weigh more than three tonnes and required specialist lifting during their installation.

The magnificent cantilevered main staircase and balcony is one of the most dramatic and striking features of the house. It is a complex piece of engineering which, due to its size, had to be craned in through the retractable roof over the main hall.

The completed family home finished by Walter Lilly with meticulous care and attention to detail, includes formal entertaining spaces, gallery, cinema room, commercial kitchen and wine cellar. A new four car garage with staff accommodation located above sits next to the house.

930 m2 of this property is dedicated to an opulent leisure area including swimming pool, hydrotherapy spa, steam room, sauna, massage and treatment room, changing rooms, and a gym.

The pool area is designed with ashlar walls, polished plaster columns and shot blasted brushed finish Fior Di Crema flooring. The swimming pool is designed to be a box within a box lined with vitreous glass mosaic tiles. This same tile was used within the circular hydrotherapy spa, hamam and horseshoe bench.
