Kilnwood, Burnham Beeches

Burnham Beeches, South Buckinghamshire

Kilnwood is an exquisite new country home on a 37-acre country estate near Burnham Beeches in Buckinghamshire. It comprises two storeys, generously sized beautifully finished rooms, a large basement and additional attic accommodation.

Walter Lilly demolished the original house on the site and built the new house in its place, using a solid ashlar natural stone and loadbearing block walls with lime mortar. Landscaping works for the estate, including an outdoor swimming pool and an impressive new entrance gateway, were also managed by Walter Lilly.

The strikingly handsome house features fine finishes, including a bespoke staircase made from European oak, kitchen work surfaces made from statuario marble and wooden flooring from solid prime oak.

The private estate accommodates several additional buildings and facilities, which remained occupied and in constant use throughout the duration of the project. These include a lodge, a cottage, stabling, polo fields and ancillary buildings.
