Walter Lilly managed this transformation project on Home Park Road, within the exclusive Wimbledon North Conservation Area. The project included the addition of a four-storey extension and refurbishment of the existing family residence.
Within the extension a new gym, master bedroom, luxurious living areas, garage and self-contained staff accommodation were created.
The front elevation of the extension was finished in a palette of brick and stone taken from the existing house, in keeping with the original period architecture. It also includes a structural glass wall set behind a planted screen.
The rear of the house is more open in character, with the ground and lower ground floors leading onto beautiful gardens; whilst the first-floor master suite has an open terrace overlooking the landscaping to the rear.
The striking landscaping and ground remodelling showcases a design where water is the key theme. It seamlessly connects the building and grounds with a waterfall, lily ponds and a brook in the front garden, which magically runs through the interior of the building.
Other stunning features include a bronze-clad front door, a building facia and garage doors finished in vertical slatted oiled oak, as well as a striking combination of frameless and oak-framed windows.
