Walter Lilly Receives An Outstanding Score For Considerate Constructor’s Scheme

Congratulations to our Durham Place project team who recently received an outstanding score of 45/ 45 plus an additional bonus point from the Considerate Constructors Scheme!

The CCS report clearly confirms the teams’ efforts and expertise. We are incredibly proud that the project team’s hard work has been recognised by the organisation which is set up to raise standards within the industry. Well done to all of those involved.

For all three CCS scoring categories, ‘Respect for the community’, ‘Care for the environment’ and ‘Valuing our workforce’, The Durham Place project team received excellent scores of 15 out of 15 and were awarded an extra point for innovation and best practice.

Mutie Baidas, monitor for the CCS, said: Appropriate goodwill works are well provided and community involvement/ opportunities for social integration and charity fundraising are ongoing. Excellent environmental practice and good performance, monitoring, and reporting is in place. Training is encouraged and CSCS/ skill cards are mandatory. Safety Directors provide site-specific inductions and training, if required. All materials used according to Building BREEAM requirements. Their standards are at the forefront of the industries practice, and this will clearly continue. The project carbon footprint is monitored and carbon offsetting projects are supported.”

Walter Lilly’s Construction Manager, Regan Snowdon, has seen through the construction of this project and said: “We are one of three neighbouring construction sites within a small road, we strive to stand out above all others. Our project is challenging due to many constraints and restrictions, but we are fortunate to have an enthusiastic all be it small team.“
