This project demanded a high level of expertise in complex engineering and logistical challenges, particularly given the intricacies of basement construction in London.

One notable challenge the team faced on this project, involved supporting the weight of an existing six-storey terraced property, which totals 1,350T while excavating the new 155m² basement 3.5m below the current lower ground floor, to create a private snooker room and entertainment space. This required a carefully planned sequence of temporary structures to transfer the load from the property’s existing piled footings to temporary works and then onto the new structure. Our site team meticulously executed this process, utilising nearly 15T of temporary structures. Additionally, around 80m³ of existing reinforced concrete pile caps and piles were removed to accommodate the new 490m³ basement.

This project also saw upgrade to the existing M&E services of the six-storey house as well as redecoration and fit out to the newly developed basement areas.
