Walter Lilly managed this design and build project to construct a 42 module high containment laboratory building.

The completed 1,200 m² building provides six new high specification laboratories for research and diagnostics, constructed to either SAPO 4 or ACDP3 standards. Support facilities include freezer rooms, storage, showers and changing rooms.

Throughout the duration of the project, all critical elements of the design, installation, operation and performance of each relevant process or system were formally assured through a series of predetermined checks, to ensure they complied with the acceptance criteria. Installation qualification was fully integrated with normal system testing and commissioning activities.

The building was constructed in just six months and achieved a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating.
