Walter Lilly Reach Number 70 In The Top 100 Inclusive UK Employers

Walter Lilly is thrilled to announce that we have ranked #70 on the National Centre For Diversity’s Top 100 Inclusive UK Employers Index for 2024! This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to cultivating a diverse and inclusive work environment that celebrates the uniqueness of every employee.

The Index, compiled annually, honours organisations dedicated to ingraining Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) best practice throughout their business operations. At Walter Lilly, our EDI strategy has been developed around four core business strands including Recruitment, Retention, Training and Futureproofing. Last year, by way of example, we delivered a series of foundational online training sessions to expand employee knowledge around EDI-related topics and established an employee forum for those with a passion for the subject.

“As a long-term advocate for EDI, this achievement validates the proactive effort made by Walter Lilly to evolve for the better,” said Chris Butler, Managing Director for Walter Lilly. “We are excited for the series of initiatives we have planned for 2025, driven by company leadership and our recently established EDI Employee Resource Group. Our mission remains clear—to continue raising awareness around the importance of EDI in the workplace, reforming our processes where necessary and paving the way for a more diverse future in construction.”

Solat Chaudhry, Chief Executive of the National Centre for Diversity, also shared a tribute: “I send my warmest congratulations to Walter Lilly on successfully reaching number 70 in the Top 100 Inclusive UK Employers Index 2024. The inspiring organisations that make the Top 100 demonstrate excellent levels of employee retention and recruitment, and clearly evidence how they value and respect the people that work for them. What better than to be recognised by peers and those travelling in the same direction towards the common goal of Fairness in the workplace—it is hugely motivational.”

At Walter Lilly, we recognise that our journey towards creating a truly inclusive workplace is only just beginning. Nevertheless, we plan to continue leading by example. A huge thank you to our workforce, whose ongoing support and willingness to learn, grow and develop has been crucial in helping us reach this significant milestone.
