Earlier this month, Walter Lilly teamed up with BTP Group to host the inaugural HQR Charity Golf Day, on behalf of HQR London. The day was well attended by 22 teams of 4 and provided a fantastic opportunity to network and catch up with others from across the HQR sector; including project managers, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and main contractors.
After breakfast, a 4-ball Stableford competition tee’d off on Brocket Hall’s Melbourne Course with a shotgun start at 12pm. The golfers were challenged not only by the course, but additional competitions to win prizes too.
Congratulations to all of the winners on the day:
The round of golf was followed by a three-course meal, drinks and a prizegiving presentation. A game of heads or tails then led into a short live auction which wrapped up proceedings. The auction comprised match-worn Ryder Cup Clothing, a 3-Ball at The Addington, Samsung TV and Sony Headphones, a 4-Ball at Brocket Hall, a 3-Ball at Wentworth and a 4-ball at Foxhills.
The Charity was delighted to receive the cash prizes from the day which were kindly donated back by their respective winners.
All in all, the day raised nearly £11,000 which will be donated to HQR London’s main beneficiary, The Lighthouse Club. The Lighthouse Club is a construction industry charity whose aim is to ensure no construction worker or their family feels alone in a crisis.
In addition to the Walter Lilly prizes, we thank all of our additional sponsors; Egan Lucocq, Darke & Taylor, Luke Donald, Priory, Icon Connect, Brocket Hall, Franchi Plc and SizeGroup.
We are very proud to be founders of the HQR London Charitable Trust and always enjoy playing a part in events such as these. We extend our thanks to BTP for their collaboration with this fundraising event.
A brilliant time was had by all and we hope to roll out further HQR golfing events in 2023.
