Walter Lilly recognised at DEFRA’s Critical Works Awards 2021

Walter Lilly was delighted to be awarded at DEFRA’s Critical Works Awards this year, following what has been a challenging year with the impact of COVID-19.

We were nominated twice for the Health and Safety category and received the following comments from the respective DEFRA representatives:

“Walter Lilly have demonstrated that their site activities, personnel and supply chain have H&S as an integral part of their processes including regular monitoring and sharing of Lessons Learned following incidents or near-misses.”

“I’d like to nominate Walter Lilly for their COVID-19 response and attitude to Health and Safety in general. They mobilised really well, have been commended on site for their COVID-19 measures, and their attitude to Health and Safety throughout the entire project work in B265 has been excellent.”

We also recognised in the Collaborative Working category with the following comment:

“Walter Lilly’s style of communication is two-way. They operate an open-book policy when changes are required on the project scope and this seems to follow through with their site-based subcontractors.”

We always put the Health and Safety of our operatives and the Client team first and we are proud that this has been acknowledged by our Clients at DEFRA. We believe that open communication and a collaborative approach is key to the effective coordination of works on site, and this communication with our supply chain partners is what allows us to provide the best solutions and results for our Clients.
