Oxford

Oxford BioMedica is a leading gene and cell therapy company, based in Oxfordshire. Walter Lilly was engaged to refurbish the company’s existing pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, which consists of two steel framed and steel clad, two-storey industrial units.

Walter Lilly stripped out and reconfigured the facility to provide the company with a new GMP (good manufacturing practice) suite at first floor, a GMP Microbiology laboratory, a Cryostore, freezer room, offices and write-up areas.

Both entrance areas were reconfigured along with the provision of a new data room, gas bottle store, new transformer and electrical intake room and a new stand-by generator.

The complex M&E Services included replacement chiller and air handling units, new compressed air, medical gases, electrical switchpanel, lightning protection, fire alarm and security systems with extensive modifications undertaken to the steam, heating, FMS, access control, data, IT and lift installations.
