Walter Lilly Awarded Bronze Level Social Value Quality Mark

We are thrilled to announce that the Social Value Quality Mark (SVQM) CIC has awarded its Bronze level Quality Mark to Walter Lilly this November!

The Social Value Quality Mark CIC is an independent social enterprise launched in September 2015 by the Social Value Business, and is supported by a team of independent, passionate practitioners. The purpose of the mark is to cultivate and recognise the highest known standards in values-led business, assisting organisations to legitimately quantify, demonstrate and evaluate their social value impact.

We now join several like-minded organisations within the built environment dedicated to improving the local communities in which we live and work. It is our mission to use our established influence to help foster positive change within the construction industry, raising awareness and delivering long-lasting positive, social, economic and environmental impact through how we choose to act and operate.

To achieve Bronze level accreditation, we have demonstrated our commitment to delivering a series of pledges across the themes of health and wellbeing, employment and volunteering, education and skills, sustainable working practices, and local economic investment over the next year.

Chris Butler, Managing Director of Walter Lilly (pictured), shared his thoughts on the news:

“Reflecting on Walter Lilly’s social value journey, we are incredibly proud recipients of the SVQM Bronze Level award. We have made it our mission in recent years to ensure our business operations positively contribute towards changing lives and society for the better, and this achievement is reflective of all we have achieved so far. We look forward to fulfilling our targets over the next 12 months and achieving Silver level!”

Richard Dickins, MD of Social Value Quality Mark CIC, also commented:

“Customers, investors and jobseekers increasingly place their loyalty with organisations who deliver clear social and environmental benefits. The Quality Mark separates, distinguishes and celebrates those businesses who are genuinely committed to making the world a fairer place. We are pleased that Walter Lilly is joining the growing number of companies making this commitment.”

Our targets will be measured, delivered and independently reported against a 12-month roadmap over the course of 2023/2024.
