Burlington Danes

The Burlington Danes Medical Research Facility was built as the result of a collaboration between GlaxoSmithKline, Imperial College and the Medical Research Council. It was built to provide a centre of excellence for clinical imaging and as part of a rationalisation and consolidation programme for Imperial College’s campus laboratories. This facility sits on the site of the former Burlington Danes school and adjoins Hammersmith Hospital.

Secured as part of a Framework Agreement and procured on a single-stage design and build basis, Walter Lilly managed the shell and core fitting out of part of the third, fourth and fifth floors of the East Wing to provide a mix of laboratories, cold rooms, write-up space and offices.

Facilities within the scope of the project included radiation rooms which were finished in anti-radiation paint.
