A spectacular five bedroom apartment with en-suite bathrooms and dressing rooms, located in the heart of Kensington; it is the final of six apartments to be completed by Walter Lilly in the same development. In keeping with the prestige location, all works were carried out under exacting criteria, as set out by the residents’ estate department, and finished to the highest standard. Notably, the project included the construction of an 11 metre high living wall to the stair, a new marble-clad stair across three floors and a glass-fronted hydraulic lift – all of which had to be delivered and assembled using the limited site entrance via the main road access.
Other works included marble finishes to all bathrooms and main entrance areas, and high quality joinery throughout the apartment, including dressing rooms, bathrooms, living room and study. A key element of the project was the construction of a new floor-mounted swimming pool in the basement area, which incorporated a full-height, laminated structural glass retaining wall – the glass weighed 1.3 tonnes and was delivered fully formed. To minimise the impact on residents, liaison with the estate team had to be meticulously planned, and the glass was transported through the development to its final position without incident.
