Walter Lilly was contracted to restore this prestige private home to the highest standard throughout. The property consists of five bedroom suites, 12 bathrooms, a swimming pool and leisure complex. Refurbishment involved extensive stone and joinery work, including fitting new ceilings and floors, roof slating and roof lights. Other works included the restoration of windows, original fireplaces, a cantilevered stone staircase, which was returned to its original configuration, and the sensitive rebuilding of a damaged caryatid figure.
Finishes of particular note include four bathrooms, which feature back-illuminated onyx and quartz stone and bespoke hardwood floors, with laser-cut rope borders and a cardinal point motif in steamed and stained oak; as well as a unique three dimensional ‘rippled sand’ finish for the swimming pool – inspired by the patterns on the shore line. Walter Lilly was also commissioned to manage work carried out by client-appointed contractors, including audiovisual, security, specialist decoration and garden landscaping.
