Chiswick House Conservatory

The Chiswick House and Gardens Trust’s ambitious garden restoration project has included the restoration of the 1,300mConservatory, a Grade I Listed building. The Conservatory, which houses many rare and old species of camellia, was totally de-constructed before being rebuilt with a new Canadian Douglas fir timber frame and Pilkington K Glass in the same style as the original 1930’s design.

The back sheds were extended and refurbished to form education/exhibition spaces, a small kitchen and food preparation area and offices with improved facilities for events and public use, with full disabled access.

The project was nominated for a London RIBA Award in 2010.
