7th July memorial

The Memorial was commissioned by a project board consisting of The Royal Parks, the Department for Culture Media and Sport and elected representatives of the bereaved families to the fifty two victims that lost their lives during the 7th July 2005 bomb attacks in London.

Each of the fifty two lives are represented by individual cast stainless steel ‘stelae’ arranged in four groups, one for each bomb location, namely; King’s Cross, Travistock Square, Aldgate and Edgeware Road. In addition, a cast stainless steel plaque is located at the head of the memorial containing the names of each of the victims.

The project was the recipient of a RIBA Award for the Arts & Leisure Category, 2010 and opened by HRH Prince Charles.
