The alteration and extensive refurbishment of this Grade II listed private residence includes finishes to ten bathrooms, fitting out of the kitchen and utility rooms, installation of lift and food hoists and extensive electrical, mechanical and audio visual systems. Two new entrance kiosks adjacent to the main entrance gates will also be built. The internal finishes are of the finest quality. The original Lutyens ceilings have ‘neo classically’ designed fibrous plaster and covings installed to the drawing rooms. Bespoke fibrous plaster ceilings and covings are also present in all the ground floor rooms and bedrooms. Both the reconstituted stone and fibrous plaster is unique in it’s nature which has meant that full scale models of all components had to be prepared to allow for moulds for casting to be made. Careful supervision and monitoring of all aspects of the model making and mould production process had to be undertaken. The bespoke internal doors are Brazilian Mahogany hand carved on the stile with cross bowing with flamed panel veneer. The floor finishes are a mixture of marble, hardwood and carpet. Walter Lilly has carefully chosen subcontractors from it’s approved supply chain that could achieve the Clients and Architects expectations of the high quality of finish required, in particular to plaster, fibrous plaster and joinery elements.
