Walter Lilly was recently instructed to carry out the Main Works on this project, following the enabling works carried out in 2006. The project involves the extensive structural refurbishment of the existing buildings, retaining the current façades. The property will be underpinned and the existing basement slab removed and replaced by a new raft slab approximately 1m lower than the existing.
There are substantial temporary works involved in the project. A new reinforced concrete frame will provide flat slabs up to 4th floor level, with a structural steel roof area and flat metal deck roof slab. This new frame ties into the retained façades and existing party walls.
