Walter Lilly have carried out numerous projects for GlaxoSmithKline spanning more than 20 years. The works have included Category II and III Laboratories, GMP Manufacturing areas and Clean Rooms, along with offices, packaging and other facilities. Many of these projects have been completed on a phased basis and carried out in busy occupied buildings where careful consideration has had to be given to the interface between the works and the building users. Safe segregation of the construction works from the research endeavour and the maintenance of services for client ongoing operations are key factors of our work. All the works have been carried out to a high standard, taking into account the sensitive nature of some of the projects and the need to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Walter Lilly were appointed building trade package contractor as part of an overall £37 million management contract for the project at Beckenham where facilities of the site were ringfenced into a quarter of the site, to allow the remainder to be sold. The team were Winner of the Contract Journal Construction Industry Award for Single Project Partnering 1999. Walter Lilly has had a dedicated team working on projects for GSK, resulting in excellent working relationships and opportunities for repeat business.
