Little Green Apples...
Walter Lilly has recently received a Green Apple Award for the Mills Building at DEFRA in Weybridge. The Awards are presented by The Green Organisation, who are dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the globe. They were issued at a ceremony at the Houses of Parliament by Fiona Fullerton. The Mills Building was designed to accommodate veterinarian staff offices and surgery for the Animal Services Unit, replacing older buldings in outdated condition on the same site. | ![]() |

The completed building incorporates timber from sustainable sources, materials selected using the Green Guide, solar shading, brise soleil, photo voltaic cells, solar panels and energy efficient plant. |
Waste was managed on site with reduced packaging and recycling took place.
Involved in the Project were Cyril Sweett, Architon, Nisbet and Partners, Curtins Consulting and TP Engineering.
